The World Sustainable Travel & Hospitality Awards (‘WSTHA’) has announced that its first ceremony will be held at the historic Cahal Pech Archaeological Reserve in Belize, the official host destination. Leaders in sustainable tourism will gather for a VIP reception on 27 September 2024, where the winners will be revealed. Cahal Pech, located in San Ignacio Town, is a Maya site with temples that were first settled between 1,200 and 1,000 BC. The VIP reception will conclude a series of curated experiences that allow delegates to explore Belize.
This announcement follows the close of voting for the WSTHA 2024 program. Nominees came from around the world, showcasing individuals and organizations that are driving change and positively impacting sustainable tourism. Industry professionals, the media, and the general public voted for the nominees they believe are leading the way in sustainable tourism.
